Cake and Frosting: Dorie Greenspan’s Perfect Party Cake
My alterations: I wanted a different flavor profile, so I replaced the lemon oil in the cake with one teaspoon of pure almond extract and the lemon juice in the frosting with two teaspoons of pure almond extract; I also used apricot preserves to fill the cake instead of raspberry.
