Eating Out: Ocean Boulevard
Vacation date night: Ocean Boulevard, Kitty Hawk, North Carolina.
Their signature drink, the Rosy Cheeks: vodka, lemon, rosemary. I can say, having downed two of them, that the name is apt.
Appetizer numero uno: Seared Beef & House Made Petite Tortillas, Poblano-Tomato Salsa, Queso Fresco, Ancho-Peach Puree, Scallions, Cilantro.
Appetizer numero due: the evening’s special. Mussels, Calamari (bonus: tentacles!), Sausage, Rigatoni, Chiles.
Entree numero uno: Pan Roasted Duck Breast, Foie Gras-Potato Gnocchi, Local Swiss Chard, Summer Squash, Peach Gastrique.
Entree numero due, also a special: Local Swordfish, Eggplant-Feta Fritter, Polenta-Stuffed Bell Pepper, Shrimp, Quinoa.
The finishing touch: Walnut-Ginger Cheesecake, Apple Compote.
You should go. Request a seat at the chef’s counter. You won’t be disappointed.
