Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

I know I will: I opened the big box to find an ice cream maker with compressor; suck it, frozen bowl! And Brian, upon opening his gift, proclaimed me a FOUR STAR giftmaster general! AND, it’s my birthday!

So many exclamation points! So much joy! I hope everyone who’s celebrating has a marvelous day.

This post is a unique and delicate snowflake - there are NO RELATED POSTS...yet....

hi everyone, thanks for the birthday wishes!

for those wondering, i got brian a trio of local hudson valley ryes and bourbons, along with bourbon-drinking accessories (fancy glasses, whisky stones, bitters, etc.). he thinks he made out better, but i think i did!

I’d say it’s a draw in the gift department! You both have an incredible talent for picking gifts (although I’d prefer the ice cream maker). Somehow, I suspect the bourbon and perhaps the rye will find their way into some ice cream eventually.
    Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday!!!

Yes, definitely: bourbon ice cream! Maybe with a little bacon and maple syrup . . .

I packed a few jars of peaches in bourbon this summer. at thanksgiving, i combined them with some fresh challah and the other usual suspects to create a peach bourbon bread pudding. the leftover syrup from the jar went into a buttery peach bourbon sauce.

    YES.
